Summary
Authorities have locked down Terminal C at Newark International Airport (EWR) due to a security breach. Officials said a man walked through the wrong side of a checkpoint exit from the public area to the sterile side without undergoing screening. All flights have been halted out of the terminal as authorities search for the suspect.
Expect long delays even after the terminal is reopened as the backlog in flights is cleared. The delays may also affect connecting flights at other major hubs across the US. Continental Airlines (CO) flights will likely face particular delays as EWR serves as the hub for that airline.
