Qantas engineers to strike
PROFESSIONAL engineers from Qantas and Jetstar will go on strike today
PROFESSIONAL engineers from Qantas and Jetstar will go on strike today over failed negotiations on a new collective agreement with their employer, with fatigue management and professional development needs still a particular concern.
A statement from their union, the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia, said the engineers who work at heavy maintenance facilities at Sydney, Brisbane and Avalon, would strike for up to five business days, and would continue to do so through December and January if necessary.
