Now Boarding: Flight 2010 by Laura Jackson

2010 is looming on the horizon, so I thought I would take a look at Flight 2010. Turns out there are 13 such flights operated by 12 airlines around the world in January 2010, as detailed below. Happy New Year to all!

Daily service provided by the world’s largest carrier, Delta Air Lines. Most flights are operated with 142-seat MD-88 aircraft, but twice during January the flight is scheduled to be aboard a 150-seat Boeing 737-800.

Daily service provided by Barcelona-based low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines. Flights are operated with 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Caracas (CCS) – Porlamar (PMV), Venezuela
Six-times weekly service provided by Conviasa, Venezuela’s state-owned carrier. Flights are operated with 103-seat Boeing 737-200 aircraft.
Leon/Guanajuato (BJX) – Monterrey (MTY), Mexico
Six-times weekly service provided by AeroMexico Connect, AeroMexico’s regional carrier. Flights are operated with 50-seat Embraer regional jets.
Monterrey (MTY) – Ciudad Juarez (CJS), Mexico
This six-times weekly service is also provided by AeroMexico Connect, the only carrier to appear on this list twice. Flights are operated with 50-seat Embraer regional jets.
Rajkot (RAJ) – Mumbai (BOM), India
Daily service provided by Jet Konnect, the low-cost arm of India’s Jet Airways. Flights are operated with 135-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Rome (FCO) – Milan (LIN), Italy
Four-times weekly service provided by Alitalia. Flights are operated with 171-seat narrowbody Airbus aircraft.
Reno (RNO) – Dallas (DFW), USA
Daily service provided by American Airlines. Flights are operated with 140-seat MD-80 aircraft.
San Diego (SAN) – San Francisco (SFO), USA
Four-times weekly service provided by Southwest Airlines. Flights are operated with 137-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Taipei, Taiwan (TPE) – Ningbo (NGB), China
Four-times weekly service provided by China Eastern Airlines. Flights are operated with 158-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
International Service: Flight 2010
Houston, USA (IAH) – Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL)
Daily service provided by Continental Express. Flights are operated with 50-seat Embraer regional jets.
Kuwait (KWI) – Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt (SSH)
Twice-weekly service provided by Kuwaiti carrier Wataniya Airways. Flights are operated with 122-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Toronto, Canada (YYZ) – Santa Clara, Cuba (SNU)
Once-weekly service provided by Toronto-based Skyservice. Flights are operated with 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. This is the longest Flight 2010!
